Yellow Diamonds

WHY YELLOW DIAMONDS?

A Unique Alternative to Classic White Diamonds

Radiant and rare, fancy yellow diamonds bring bold colour and individuality to your jewellery, making them a beautiful choice for a truly special piece, a stunning alternative to the traditional white diamond engagement ring. Colourless diamonds are graded using D-Z scale, with D as colourless and Z as light yellow. Fancy yellow diamonds are deeper in colour than Z.

For that Statement Piece Consider a Fancy Yellow Diamond

The rarest and most famous fancy yellow colour is known as Canary yellow, but the term isn’t currently in use to describe its particularly beautiful, pure hue. The GIA Coloured Diamond Grading System uses six grades: Fancy Light, Fancy, Fancy Dark, Fancy Deep, Fancy Intense, and Fancy Vivid.

Yellow diamonds have gained popularity over the past few years, with many people choosing this beautiful and unique coloured diamond to mark a special occasion. In designing your own piece using yellow diamonds, it’s worth remembering that most yellow diamonds appear slightly deeper in colour when set into jewellery. Yellow gold enhances the depth of colour and white gold or platinum will make the colour appear lighter

Yellow diamonds are graded under seven different colour grades:

  • Faint
  • Very light
  • Light
  • Fancy Light
  • Fancy
  • Fancy intense
  • Fancy vivid
  • Fancy deep

Golden Tones, Timeless Brilliance

Other fancy coloured diamonds such as pink and blue are extremely rare and therefore very expensive in comparison.

Yellow diamonds come in a variety of shapes and look amazing standing alone or with white diamonds on the sides or in a halo to contrast and highlight the yellow colour.

Yellow diamonds are often set in yellow gold and a modern approach is to use a mix of gold colours if you have white diamonds in the setting.  This also helps to highlight the colour and gives a more dramatic and unique effect.
